Is my printed QR code or short link still working?

A free daily watch for printed links. Paste the links on your menus, flyers, posters and packaging, from any QR or short-link service. We check each one every day and tell you the day it dies, or quietly starts landing somewhere else: a parked domain, or a QR vendor's “this code is deactivated” page after a free trial ends.

Use it from an assistant or a script

Watches up to 25 printed links (QR codes, short links) once a day and reports the ones that died, moved, landed on a deactivated or parking page, changed how they redirect, or have a certificate about to expire, with a result page to share.

curl -X POST https://b59.link/api/watch -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"links": [{"url": "https://qrco.de/abc123", "label": "menu table card"}]}'
MCP tool
watch_printed_links, get_watch_report on https://b59.link/api/mcp
Limit
25 links a watch; 2 new watches a day from one address without a confirmed email; 3 watches and 100 links per confirmed email or account. Each link is checked once a day; check now once an hour (API, with the manage token).

We send a 6-digit code first; nothing else goes to the address until you enter it. Then at most one email a day, only when something changes.

What it checks, every day

  • Dead:the name doesn't resolve, the certificate fails, nothing answers in 15 seconds, or the page answers 4xx or 5xx, on two checks at least 6 hours apart. One bad minute is shown as “failed once” and never emailed.
  • Lands somewhere new:the final address's site or path is different from the first check (www and a trailing slash don't count).
  • Deactivated page:the link now ends on a QR or short-link vendor's own domain or a domain-parking service, or the page says things like “QR code deactivated”, “subscription expired” or “this domain is for sale”, even though it answers 200.
  • Redirect changed: a permanent redirect became temporary or the other way round, a hop was added or removed, or a meta refresh appeared.
  • Certificate expiring:the final site's certificate runs out within 14 days.

An example result

menu table card qrco.de/abc123 Deactivated page ends at qr-code-generator.com/expired since 3 Oct
window poster b59.link/oct-flyer Working 1 redirect, ends at yourcafe.com/menu
spring flyer bit.ly/sprng24 Lands somewhere new was yourcafe.com/spring, now yourcafe.com/

Limits

Free, no card, no account. 25links a watch. Without a confirmed email, 2 new watches a day from one connection, and a watch ends after 30 days unless its manage link is opened. With a confirmed email or an account: 3 watches and 100 links, and they don't expire. Check history is kept 90 days. The details, the API and the MCP tools are in the printed-link watch docs.

Who checks: our server, once a day per link, at most one request every 2 seconds to any one site, with a user agent that names b59.link and this page. For a one-off look at a list, use the link list checker; for one link hop by hop, the redirect checker.
