A contact page behind the code on your card

A QR code that holds your whole contact card is dense, and it's frozen the day it's printed. Put a short address in the code instead. It opens a page with your details and a Save contact button, and when your number changes you edit the page, not the card.

Why a page and not the whole card in the code

  • The code stays small. The address of a contact page needs a 29 × 29 grid for most names. A full contact card with an address and a note can need 77 × 77, which is hard to scan from a corner of a business card.
  • You can change it after printing. New number, new job title, new email: edit the page and every card you've handed out is right again.
  • It depends on us. A code that holds the contact itself works with no internet and for ever. A page needs this site to be up. If the card has to outlive any service, use the contact QR tool and print the details themselves.

The sizes come from a vCard QR code for a business card, which goes through what each line of a contact costs in squares.
