Juniper Table

A new site, dinner booking and phone-edited specials for a 60-seat restaurant that keeps its Toast system as it is.

Juniper Table is a sample business we use to show the work; the problems are the ones we find most often. Photos are free-to-use (CC0) stand-ins for the place's own.

What we found

  • Dinner could only be booked by phone, and reviews kept saying “couldn't book online”.
  • The menu was a PDF from 2023; the daily specials lived only on Instagram.
  • Toast online ordering existed but wasn't linked from the site.

What we designed

  • A home page with today's hours, tables left tonight and the specials board the kitchen updates from a phone.
  • A dinner booking page: night, party size, free times, confirmation and a reminder the day before.
  • Tonight's list on the manager's phone; pickup goes straight to their Toast page.

What stays as it is

Toast POS, Toast online ordering and payouts, the kitchen printer, walk-in brunch.

How it fits

Three journeys, with the new parts in orange and everything Toast keeps doing dashed.
